An Angelfish 3-some??

My 3rd pair of angels finally spawned in the 55 gal.....but this is really wierd,
I have a pearlscale who has been trying to get in on it,,,,it is a female, her tube has been fully extended all day, the marble pair will allow her to help clean and fan the eggs....and she seems to be swimming against the leaf like she is going to start laying too......then the pair will fight her off.

Earlier in the week, the marbles were really fighting....and the pearlscale was hanging out with the male marble for a couple of days, but he decided to spawn with the other marble instead.

Anyone ever hear of this?

So how many eggs do you have now! Trish you're going to have a huge family at the end of this!! I don't keep angels but its something I'd like to try in the future, congrats on the 3rd lot of eggs, hopefully someone else can be more helpful

The 3rd pair had a small batch .......at most 200.

and I am losing a lot of fry, so it is still learning time for me!

I left the small batch with the parents, and their nanny!!

It is the strangest thing.......the two females are taking care of the eggs....the male doesn't do much at all......they have quit fighting with the pearlscale female, and she is taking care of them like they are hers...she keeps the other fish away too...... she gives them that look......then chomp! she gets em!

My 2nd pair of marbles, I gave to a friend about a week ago...she called me today, and they have spawned again....

If anyone is interested in some adult angels....... siblings of the 3 pair I got a few months ago......the lady still has some for sale......pretty cheap, they are about 1 yr old. PM me and I will give you the info on them.
They are very good spawners no doubt!!
