okay so my ammonias alittle high and i have fish in my tank what do i do to lower it i already did a 50% water change what do i do next as i dont want my fish to die

When you say a little high, what is the exact level? Do you have a testing kit. You are best to do daily large water changes (I'd do 85/90% at least) using a dechlorinator that claims to deal with Ammonia. What fish do you have? and what size tank? Was the tank cycled?

i have 8 black neon tetra 12 corys betta and a pleco who will be moved i have a 20 gallon tank yes it was cycled and the ammonia is 0.2 it use to be on 0 and it was good for the majority of 6 months now that ive checked it today it wasnt on zero anymore dont know how it happened

0.2 isn't that high, but anything higher than 0 might be a problem. Do another big water change and test for the next few days to make sure it doesnt creep up. If it does, do another water change.

King British do a water treatment that claims to deal with ammonia and nitrite. I have been using it and all seems to be getting under control slowly (I'm doing a fish in cycle). I'm no expert so I'm not going to make any claims that the treatment works but it might be worth a try if you are worried.

There's no treatment that gets rid of ammonia unfortunately. There are some which claim to "deal" with ammonia, but they only turn it into ammonium, which is still toxic to fish but slightly less so.

I'm assuming you're doing a fish-in cycle, so get used to testing and water changes. You're going to be doing them every day for the next few months.

no its already cycled everything was fine until i checked my ammonia 2days ago and it was just on 0.2 when it was on zero the past few days im guessing it was because on of my fish had died over night due to being old and im now worried to my other fish as the ammonia is alittle high i already did a 90% water change and added some api ammona lock and its now on 0.1-0.2 between those 2 how many more water changes do i have to do to get it back to zero
