I have 7 Zebra danios & 7 Mollies in a 350litre tank which is 3 weeks old.

I'm testing the water daily but I am seeing no movement in either ammonia or Nitrite - they are both sitting at about 0.1PPM - Is this normal? Will they ever go any lower?

I used seachem stability for the first week.

Does your testing kit only go to 0.1? Or does it go lower?
My tetra test for nitrIte only goes to >.3, and that is the lowest value.

It could be that the test kit is either not properly detecting the lower concentrations of both (so it could be higher then indicated) or that it is reading 0 as 0.1

Ideally I would try and take a sample to your LFS and see if they can test it for you to make sure.

It's an Interpet Test Kit - where you disolve various tablets in the water and wait 5 mins etc.

The lowest readings on the scale are 0.1 PPM.

Even my tap water registers 0.1PPM for both Ammonia & Nitrite.

Maybe when I go to buy my next fish I'll take a water sample and then decide whether to get more fish.

I did think about checking the readings of the water that my last fish came in - I forgot though!!

If the tap water is showing as 0.1 as well I would say its just a problem with the test kit not showing 0.
