Ammonia Alert By Seachem

i don't know if it's good but i'm guessing it is

however, how often do you have ammonia present in your tank to need to have it monitored 24/7?

I had one but my tank was cycled so I finally took it out. Never knew if it worked or not. I guess I need to find it, stick it in a bucket and add some ammonia just to test it.

I agree. I saw this and thought i'd be great if it monitored nitrates...

I agree as well.
Hmmm, making a product that actually makes sense, what a concept! That'll never happen.

One step at a time, they probably have a nitrate monitor, but are planning to release "nitrite monitor" and "PH monitor" first to get us hooked on the series

Great, you'll have a tank so full of little sticky water monitors that you won't be able to see the darn fish. That's just brilliant! Imagine a 10g with all those little sticky's on them?

all right now
i want a fish tank, not a chem lab!

lol
i honestly don't see the popint of those monitors...

i agree it's probably unneccessary to have it monitoring your tank constantly, but i still think its kinda cool. i think of it like one of things you want, but don't really need.

I actually have this to monitor my ammonia during my fishy cycle. I wasnt sure if it was working at first because I have seen no trace of ammonia which I find to be kinda odd, so I took it out and placed it in a bucket with amonia in it and sure enough it changed colors. So to answer the question, yes it does work

I also have this in my tank for my fish cycle. It is proving to be very useful. I am in week 5 of cycling my tank and this device always alert me when the ammonia rises. I have a liquid test kit that I use also. I am doing water changes about twice per week.

I think the usefulness will decline after I am done cycling the tank.
