Am I The Only One Who Finds Fishkeeping Exciting?

Whenever I'm speaking to anyone and they ask how my day has been or something, I start off with 'It's been really good actually ...' and then they stop me and say 'Wait, is this about fish?'

And it invariably is lol.

I got excited today because my male starlight BN (L182) FINALLY found the cave and took up residence - he's been faffing around his female for weeks and weeks now, despite having a full head of branched bristles!

I also got excited because I missed my common BN trios second spawning since they had their new home, as I simply didn't expect it so soon after the last, and peered into the cave out of interest and saw a BIG clutch of babies .... AND at least 4 albino babies Despite all the parents being brown.

I also got excited because of my new geophagus altifrons ... and I get excited daily about my gouramis building bubble nests ... and and and my newest batch of longfin BNs are so tame they clean all my hand if I put my hand in their tank Those babies make me go gooey


Am I the only one who drives their friends/family nutty by constantly nattering on about fish?

haha I used to bug my other half about fish, an he was the one who wanted them! [so he got some tarantulas, and then he didnt mind it]

I've learnt to bug people on here about it all now haha

saying that though, im always tying to plan new things and harping on about them to him

its all part of the fun

i always tell my mom about my plans for this tank and whats going in that tank, and why died in the other tank, and my older sister hates it because she says thats all i talk about.

Yep my family thinks I'm obsessed with fish. Before they would just laugh.... in fact I remember one time I told them that I had called the SPCA on a LFS where half of the fish were ALWAYS dead, and since the kids who worked there didn't want to remove them their rotting bodies made the other fish sick. I read them a letter I had sent to the pet store and my WHOLE family laughed at me til I was almost in tears!!!

Then last weekend my goldfish got really sick... I gave them too much salt and shocked them. I wasn't sure they'd make it through the day. My mom and my dad were really anxious about the goldies and called me at work with updates. My mom even told me she saw by dad with his nose against the goldfish tank for a good 20 min yesterday, watching them recover
