Am I Overstocked?

haha yes they do seem to enjoy pulling things off the wall.

The stock levels still are the same as the first post.

however plans are...

Sort out shark issue in downstairs tank...

Move the mollys downstairs maybe get one or two more females to join later.

The plecs i am not sure yet. Might talk to the same person i looking to take on my shark to take at least one of them on preferably the largest one at the moment.

They have some spare tankspace as this is their tank...

I have also started visiting a local aquarium club from tonight so i will speak to them there as well about it as some of them have fish houses.

Then the plan would be to add another leopard cory and two other colours/patterns/breeds of them.

Id like to get one more black widow, and a few more glowlight and or neons to make it a tetra based tank as they seem to go well in here.

so all in all would be...
4 cory
5 black widow tetra
4< neons
4< glowlight

17 fish all in all...

which would be the same as i have now but the average size and waste production should be lower right?

thanks,

leopard corys?

in my opinion, you need at least 5 x neons,5 x glow lights, and 5 x corys, they like larger numbers.

i think if you went for 5 of each, you would be 100% stocked. what filter do you have? fluval plus 2?

you have pretty much the same tank as my 2ft by the way.lol ( excluding decor)

i ran a check with the aqadvisor app and it confirmed.

Warning: At least 5 x Leopard Cory are recommended in a group.
Warning: At least 5 x Glowlight Tetra are recommended in a group.
Warning: At least 5 x Neon Tetra are recommended in a group.

Recommended temperature range: 75.2 - 80.6 F. [Display in Celsius]
Recommended pH range: 5.5 - 7.6.
Recommended hardness range: 1 - 15 dH.

No errors.

You have plenty of aquarium filtration capacity.

Your aquarium filtration capacity for above selected species is 297%.
Recommended water change schedule: 37% per week.
Your aquarium stocking level is 86%.

Your cory is a trilineatus (leopard cory) :) fab little cories

The ones in harlequins signature.

Okay that sounds good to me! looks like i now know what to do! should have a nice shoaling tetra tank then with some bottom feeders!

I have seen the cory below marked up as cory adolfoi is this correct?

Cory Adolfoi

they look quite smart i think and are a bit different to the norm of Cory! Was thinking to have two of each cory and then one other one just to mix up the colours a little at the bottom of the tank!

Hi bezzo89 :)

C. adolfoi are beautiful corys but are often difficult to find. There are several, equally nice, species that look similar and would do well in your tank. Sometimes the lfs gets the names wrong too, so look at them carefully before you buy them. Given that in nature they tend to swim in large groups, it's usually better to get a larger number of the same species.

Which aquarium society's meeting did you go to? I hope you enjoyed yourself and would encourage you to start a thread in our new Local Aquarium Societies And Clubs to talk about your experience. I look forward to attending my club every month and have bought some great fish at their auctions. :D

It was Southend and Leigh District Aquarium Soceity or SALPAS which is easier! It was good they had an interesting speach on macro photography and they had a raffle and do regular in club shows for best fish etc was interesting!

i like the idea of half sand half gravel. Might have to do that later, i bought some coloured slate a few weeks back. That'll be done on the water change later. Nice pics.

I find that the sand makes it look like a beach now haha!

It does change it up a bit. I saw a picture tank which had been made purposely for aquascaping which had light white sand and what looked like a small tree and grass like plants around it created a nice depth of field and made it look like a nice country path!

So clever what some people can do with it! mine was mainly to make the tank a bit more featurefull with the removal of the large skull and also help the corys a bit!

here is the link i was talking about Ianho where it looks like a country setting, it looks amazing a loverrrly bit of aquascaping...

if only i could make my tank look like that its an art form it truely is!

Aquascape road

wow that looks awesome!

the tree looks great, not sure if its a Bonsai or a piece of Mopani with java fearn.

haha yeah i wasnt sure either!

I was just looking on the net about examples of aquascaping and was just wowed by that one haha!

okay so i just done a check on the tank with all the same fish in it as first stated.

I tested the ammonia levels, the only kit i had in the house was an older one but my colour matched the 0 level of ideal water.

On a Ph Test i was at 7.5 so slightly on hte higher side.

Any recommendations on these?

they seem like they are on track i will get a full test kit on tuesday when i get paid as right now i am broke!!
