Yes, I'm looking for one that'll help control algae. I got the CAE in the first place for that reason.

If there are other 4-ish inch peaceful algae eaters out there, I would welcome recommendations.

ottos are great...i love em. be sure to get a small group of them. they get around 2 inches or so. im sure there is a few verities of plecs you could get but im not too familiar with them

I still dont think personally you will have any problems from the CAE. My 1 i have now is about 5" and lives happy with 4 red eye tetras, 2 penguins and 6 ghostcats oh and little bronze cory. Never seen slightist sign of aggresion.
