My husband has made a clear point that I could not have a stable SW tank just yet as we are soon to be moving into a Double Wide Mobile home (please no jokes) It is his mother's and we are able to live there rent free so we can save up to get us our own place, but first we are going to get a car. Then continue to save. So when we get settled into a permanent house I will start to do the SW tank, thou as for now I will still ask questions to learn as much as I can. Thanks!

Anyways.... I wanted to convert my 40 Gallon into a SW tank, but with it having a mirror on the back I have come to the conclusion that it is not possible to cover it and that I do not want to change it as I like having the mirror on it. So with that sad I am going to get my 55 Gallon (as promised) and make that my community tank for now. I will be selling my 40 Gallon (prolly to one of my neighbors for $150) Along with the filter so I might ask for $160, dunno.

Thou with the extra room in the tank my husband is asking me for a list of fish I would like to add to my tank, thou I do not know how much more room I would have in my tank. I am turning to you all to help me out with this. TIA

I currently have:
4 Gouramis
4 Tiger Barbs
1 Rubbernose Pleco
1 GCAE

I would like to add:
3 Skunk Botia Loaches
and something else..

Thou I do not know what else to add... any suggestions would be appreciated??

TIA, Amy

More tiger barbs would be a good place to start, they are a shoaling fish and preffer to be kept in groups of at least 6,the botias would be fine and how about something to occupy the surface area of the tank? I would suggest marbled or silver hatchetfish.

Okay so get a few more tiger barbs, I had that in mind already sorry I did not post it.

Hatchet Fish eh, hmmm never heard of those before. Thanks!

A pair of fighters would be nice, my betta splendens are such characters and i wouldnt have the tank without them, that said, and sorry to disrupt your thread, but neone know where i can get hold of any emerald fighters? (betta smaragd)

I have a small school of golden barbs (sometimes also referred to as Chinese barbs) in one of my tanks. They spend most of their time in the upper third of the tank. They never bother any of the other inhabitants, nor do they ever get picked on. They are the most beautiful shimmery golden colour, and I think they'd fit in with your community. :)
