All Pond Solutions Discount Code

Are the externals filters from here worth getting? Was looking at the 1400ef for my 300l tank. Been looking for an external and these seem pretty nifty! Then I saw this post and makes it even better! The sad thing is I don't have the money until my 4ft tank is sold but people keep letting me down! Seems I will never get my external :(

Just purchased the 1000L/H model for £38 including delivery.

Many thanks to the OP who kindly shared this.

I purchased the same filter as adzilla88 :)
Thanks for the great post :D

Well I got my discounted filter, hooked it up, all seemed to be running fine, woke up the next morning to 30g of water everywhere, water pouring out the motorhead. Whilst Im not saying this is something that happens often, I wasnt impressed. To APS's credit, they did (after some discussions about sending replacement parts) agree to collect (which they did) and refund. So the customer service is ok.

Can you tell us a little more about how this happened?

No idea, set up the filter correctly as per instructions (and Ive set many a filter up so its not like I dont know what Im doing). Turned it on and seemed to be running fine, about 5 hours later I went to bed and woke in the morning to all the water everywhere. Switched it off, but still water came pouring out, unclipped the head and water came gushing out of it. The guys at APS thought it could have been the o-ring but without looking at it, I wasnt prepared to take the risk of a spare part and hope that worked and insisted they collected and refunded, which they did. Unfortunatley once a filter has done that to me, I dont ever trust the brand again. So Im sticking with my eheims, not worth the hassle and damage it causes to buy cheaper filters, I now have a slightly warped bottom to my tank from the water.

Whilst as I say Im aware that this isnt a regular problem with their filters, I was more trying to say that at least they gave good customer service :good:

Interesting. Question: did you fit the cover for the UV light, even if you didn't intend to use the actual bulb? Because it seems that can be a cause of it leaking, (they should make it clear in the instructions and they really don't!) and also, mine leaked when I got it and I had to apply vaseline to the seal, and then it stopped. A little late maybe but it might help others.

Star4 asked me this question (as she has lots of these filters). I didnt come with a cover! It definately wasnt just a case of using some vaseline, water was actually up inside the motorhead.

there was no cover for the uv bulb?

i have one and the qaurtz uv cover has a rubber gasket so its defiantly a necessity

ohh man that panicked me im about to set mine up on my rio 400 in the next week

Is anyone else seeing their APS 2000EF (or any other filter model) "pulsing"? As in the flow intensifies for a while and then drops to a more moderate flow.

The one I seeded on the Rio240 and then swapped with the Eheim 2078 in the 5-footer has been doing this since the change around earlier this week...

mines does it sometimes after a waterchange, but i think it is caused by trapped air, soon sorts itself out, never had any probs with mine

That's reassuring to hear, I did not really fancy the idea of playing detective on my final evening at home before going away for the weekend. :)
