Algea, strange...

I have a tank that continues to grow algea at an alarming rate

I have the lights on for 6 hours a day, which i believe is a short time, as my others all have light for 12 hours and dont get algea infested

It has a sand substrate, and the algea is like a blanket over most things in the tank. How do i get rid of it? I have already emptied cleaned and re-filled my tank once....

I want to keep this tank looking clean!!!

What kind of algae?

Its dark green and formed a sort of blanket across the sand.

Its also on the rocks, but not in a blanket form.

Will take some pictures later today when the light is back on
