my tanks into its 3rd week of cycling, last week i was scraping alge off every surface in the tank, and now my water is cloudier than a pint of guiness....

What do i do? will it go away after the water change at the end of the cycle and the introduction of fish??

or shouldi be treating the alge?

and would a uv filter cure the alge with out disturbing the cycling process

i`m into my 5th week of fishless cycle and my tank looks like a giant 70 gal cobweb, cant even see inside so hopfully yours is on track

My tank is entering into its 3rd week of fishless cycling and is also cloudy with loads of brown algae. Can somebody please confirm what will eventually make the algae/cloudiness go? I can't see how doing a 90% water change at the end will get rid of all the brown algae :S

Are you guys doing a fishless cycle? Are you leaving the lights on during the cycle time at all?

Curious

It won't.

There is a product you can use to sort it out though.

Elbow Grease works wonders :p
