does upping co2 generally get rid of algae?are they intolerant of it or is it cos plants thrive on it, hence algae dies......
I've read that "overdosing" carbon, either through CO2 or Flourish Excel can help kill off algae due to it blocking enzyme production. Higher plants seem generally unaffected by this (some possible exceptions with Excel i.e. Egeria sp.) and the consequent non-carbon limited growth obviously helps win the battle.does upping co2 generally get rid of algae?are they intolerant of it or is it cos plants thrive on it, hence algae dies......
Is it on any of the plants? hard to tell what it is from the pics, but it could be staghorn, i would "up" your CO2 levels anyway and double check your macro dosing particularily. Staghorn normally indicates a shortage of either CO2 or macros, once you correct that it will disappear, so double check everything, i would start with upping the level of CO2.
