Albino corys

I seen some albino corys today which i thought would look cute but i dont really know much about them, so could you someone give me some infor on them i.e water chemistry, feeding habits, compatabilty, how big do they grow?

Hiya

I have 5 corydorus plateatus (albino cory). They are a treasure to watch play in sand and rooting for things. They seem to be much calmer than the bronze corys. My tank stays at 7.0 Ph and they dont seem to be suffering at that level. I feed them frozen blood worms they cant get enough of and flake if it gets to the bottom without the Angels getting it first.

We also have an albino cory. Our ph is 7.6 and he does just fine. He eats frozen brine shrimp, tropical flakes, and tubifex worms. Our corys favorite food seems to be the sinking algae wafers for our pleco. Both the albino and emerald corys eat most of it before he even realizes its in the tank! They are pretty easy to care for and like fishme2death said they are a lot of fun to watch play in the sand. Ours are more active than most of our community fish!

Are albino cory's rugged little fish or are they rtaher fragile? I want active bottom feeders for my 5 gallon. would 3 cory's and 1 betta be good? I know it is a bit over stocked but it has natural plants and a penguin mini with bio-wheel.

Personally, I feel that cory's are pretty hardy little fish. With good filtration, I would think you should be just fine Tanked. I know the "rules" everyone says for overstocking but with more than adequate filtration, they can be broken........we should know, just look at our community tank!

I just got back from my lfs (last minute customer but at least I knew what I wanted) I bough 3 albino cory's to go in the "betta bowl" they are no more that 3/4 of and inch (1.9cm) and are absolutly adorable. they want out of the bag so bad but will have to wait abit. I will take pics and post them when I let them out.

Hi tanked, glad you like your corys. Have they settled down well yet? I might be a cory owner soon but ican't decide on whether to get albino's , Leopards or Pygmy corys.

no they have not settled down. they are the most active fish I have ever seen and they don't play in the sand much either. just swim up and down the tank face eating from it. Do these things ever stop eating? that seems to be all they do. i do have alot of algae in the betta bowl right now but it decreasing very rapidly as these 3 little guys have at it.

Glad you're enjoying your Cory's Tanked...we have 2 Albino's and 2 Pepper Corys and no they never stop eating that I've observed. It's hillarious to watch the 4 of them try to wrestle an algae disk from our snail...the snail won't give it up even when they start pushing him around the tank
