Bought 2 x albino corys last saturday. They have been swimming across the front of the tank from left to right none stop since.

Yesterday I thought I had lost one of them as it was resting on a plant as though dead :( . Moved the plant to get to it and it went swimming off :D ! Last night it was laying at the bottom of the tank on its side and I thought that it would be a gonna this morning :( . Only to find that it was racing from one side of the tank to the other  . Again, this morning, it was playing dead in one of the plants. :/ Moved the plant and it went swimming off!

All the other fish are fine. Has anyone any suggestions to what is happening?Either I have a fish that is a very good actor, or I have a fish that is wanting help.

Please help!

Sounds to me like s/he is sleeping.

Hate to say this but one I had died and did a similar thing, though hopefully yours is only sleeping. Mine stay still at the bottom, but they are always upright, never on thier sides. I had one which would lay on its side, and also vertically upright in plants, in between resting he would swim normally, sadly this was the one that died.

I have bought 3 albino cory's recentely and found they do the same thing swimming back and forth in the front of the tank they even nip at my hand when I move some ornaments around, ahha. I have peppered cory's in my other tank and I dont think they move around near as much as the albino's, so from my perspective I guess its normal, I do catch them just sitting there sometimes though, not on their sides.

Also anyone know if you can mix in albino's and peppered's together?

Thanks

How come none of my other fish sleep? They are always swimming around?

This one just seems so different! This afternoon, he was "asleep" upside-down on one of the plants, and as soon as I got the net he was off!!

How can he go from so much energy to being so still?

Thanks for any advice!

i think he's just got a 'fishy' character

hope he's ok

haha I have a cory that swims up and down and side to side, and then for some reason just rolls over and keeps going back to what he's doing (only rolls maybe 1 or 2 times a day, didn't roll at all yesterday and has only been doing this like 3 days) I see no external problems so who knows, cories seem odd to me sometimes...

I just got an albino cory yesterday. It is laying on the bottom sideways right now. I keep thinking it is dead, but then it starts to move once I move the tank a little bit. I have no idea if this is normal, but mine is doing what yours seems to do.
