I have 2 very large albino cories and they are different colours. One is much darker than the other. No lighting issues here, the colour difference you see is what it is... I was just wondering why, is that normal? I bought the darker one today.

Hi MermaidMel :)

I can't really tell about the color of the corys in the photo, but as a general rule with corys, if they are not well they will tend to fade out. Is the paler one OK?

I'm with inchworm on that one. In my brief but eventful experience, colors will fade from poor health or poor diet (as I discovered from my Sunset Platys in dramatic effect). Though with Albino's i've also seen some minute color variation but only in how pink they are in certain points. Sorry I couldn't help you much on this one. Hopefully all is well!

No they are all fine, the paler ones are the ones that were already in my tank and have been there months, but they aren't 'pale' but the new one was particularly dark, if you see what I mean? Photo doesn't really show exactly what I mean. Will see if I can better pics later. The darker one was more like the colour of a panda.

It could depend on the strain of albino and what the parents may have been crossed with to produce it. The most common are bronze or peppered albino's I think (perhaps a proper cory expert could confirm?) but any strain is possible, just rare. But I agree, I have one pale bronze cory that's been a bit under the weather, and is only just starting to get it's colour back now it's getting better.

they are aging and sometimes lose there colour
nothing to wory about
