Ak77's Nano Journal

thanks, just going to check the link now :)

You're welcome :) Those buckets I think are the cheapest anywhere I've found online and last for ages. They also double up as excellent mixing tubs and you can store your water in them too as you can twist the lid on and off. He has a few different types of sand. The reef floor one looks pretty good. I think the vendor also combined the shipping for me. Don't quote me on that, as it was some time ago now!

Here's a shot from the side. It shows how the rock pile slopes in the tank

Here's the front as of today. I added some really tiny mushrooms, although one's fallen off and is at the back of the tank at the moment :X.

I added some Halimeda too today. Hopefully it survives the shipping and adjusting to my tank.

A few new additions arrived today in the form of ricordrea. I got 3 for £47 delivered from www.ricordeasuk.com. Great service and a good price too.

Anyway, enough chatter! Here's the pictures.

Unfortunately the halimeda algae I got died within a few days. I think the cold got to it coming through the mail and it didn't recover, despite being acclimatized like a coral :(

At the moment all the ricordea are feeling a bit sorry for themselves but should open up much more in the next few days or so. I should have more stuff coming soon, so will update as and when it arrives :)

Hope you like!

Nice.

I Have to stop reading these. Theres something in my head witchi s urging me to go marine  Still Have to do all that research first :p

The all blue coral is really nice.

Well they are all nice?!

Thanks. I really like them. I'm going to get a few more soon, with some different colour combinations

Lovely, Ihaven't had much success with mine, they always seem to go a travelling

Seffie x

lol, yup I already had to fish two of them out from inside the cave. They are on tiny slivers of LR, so I might get some milliput and fix them to a larger piece, or use some cyanoacrylite glue.

Nice.

Do it!! We'll all pitch in with help!

Are you using a phosphate remover AK? If so, how?

Yup. I grow Chaetomorpha in the rear section of the tank. It aborbs phosphates and nitrates and the more it grows the more efficient it gets :p

Sorry, i know this is hi-jacking but can you grow cheato in the main tank, as i have no sump or back section of the tank? :look:

:good:

lol no worries. Yup you can grow it in the main tank if you want. The only reason I grow it in the rear section is because I don't think its particularly attractive looking. If you grow it in the display tank, wedge it behind some rock slightly to anchor it down.

Check on eBay. There are usually a few vendors selling it for around £5. That's where I got mine. They never seem to have any macro algaes when I go to the LFS.
