If its not planted, i can say that it doesnt really matter... If it is planted, sorry - i dunno!

nope not planted.i have dead coral in there so most plants wouldnt survive

Well then, i think if you like the bubbles - put one in & if you dont - dont! If you know wat i mean! I think it helps though. I have one in my 60 gal, though ive been told i dont really need it...

i find in larger tanks with only one filter, it actually helps to get water movement where the water would become stagnant

it doesn't do much for oxygen levels though as the regular filters usually bring them up to the water's peak levels

i really dont want 1.my tank is in my bedroom and the filter is super quiet
