Is there any African Cichlids that would go in a 20 gallon?
Thanks!
Sean
Nothing from Lake Malawi would be suitable for that tank.

From Lake Tang, you could go with one of the shell dwelling species as recomended above, or one of the smaller Julidochromis as well.

Is your tank 2ft or 2.5ft?

u could!?!?!?!?! :hyper:

could i get a pair in mine?

not true. you could do yellow labs in a 20
I guess you could - I have a totally overcrowded tank that breaks every rule in my 15g as well ;) , but would you advise to keep 3 or 4 fishes that grow up to 5 inches in a 20g? (this is also assuming this is a 20g long)

IMO, 20g is simply too small to keep Malawi cichlids. A small number of a small species of mbuna is all I would put in any tank less than 4' long, with a 30g tank being the bare minimum.

That said, you could have a very interesting Tang tank with a maybe 3 ocellatus or multifasciatus shellies (1M, 2F) and a pair of the smaller Julidochromis species.

Definitely worth looking into.

Good luck!

I'm thinking shellies would be your best option. Small in size but very big personality!!
Cant wait to set up my 55g shellie tank!!

:D
