Africa - Namibia And Botswana (part 4 - Lions, Hyena Etc.)

Bloo, you've probably said this before, but what sort of camera/lens do you use?

lovely shots on those lions, but I like the hyenas best. Lions are commonly photographed, hyenas not so much (and I think they're far more fascinating than lions). I love that wicked grin with the bit of blood at the corner of the mouth. Says so much about their personalities, the little devils.

Thanks hoppybunn & starrynightxxi ! :D
I know Lions are so commonly photographed, but I tell you when you're in a reserve of 22 270 square km (it takes around 12 hours to drive from one end to the other), spotting game (especially Lion resting in the shade in the heat of the summer day) is quite an achievement I tell you ! But I know what you mean ;)

This is the camera :

It's a Canon EOS 20D with two lenses. Standard EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM lense and then a telephoto lense which is the EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM.

Oh. Well i use Nikon, so actually we can't be seen talking to one another. :p

You guys must have been close anyhow. my lens is a 70-300 telephoto too and to get that good a closeup is probably closer than I want to be to a lion or hyena without a wall between us

(how many times can I say the word close in one post?)
