I've seen a lot of reptiles become impacted from sand so I'm kind of against it. But if you do go with sand, when you feed crickets or whatever it is you feed, put them in a deep dish inside their tank. Something like a cat litter pan maybe? And then put your lizard/gecko in there and let them eat, that way they aren't catching crickets off the sand and swallowing a ton of sand.

This is especially important with bearded dragons more than leopard geckos because they just walk up and take a big huge bite out of their food like big ol' clods  , leopard geckos stick out their tongue a bit and are more gentle. Also, bearded dragons should be offered dark, leafy veggies every day because they are omnivores and they need the calcium and vitamin A. There are also pelleted bearded dragon foods that you soak in water or apple juice that provide them with all of their vitamins and minerals that they need.

Keep in mind that if you don't have proper UV lighting all of this will be a big waste because they wont be able to absorb all of these vitamins that they take in. The UVA and UVB rays are what help reptiles turn their food into energy.

There is a lot more I could tell you about bearded dragon care but I can't type it all :p

I'm no expert on lizards, but I'm pretty sure Leopard Geckos don't need UV light as they are nocturnal.

Totally awesome points Auratus, that is why my meal worms are in a meal worm dish with Calcium.
Yes they are Noturnal, but they do lay out under the basking light. Mine most of the time lays under a plant so she does get the UV. Some people turn there heat lamps off and then let the UV run on for about a half an hour so the lizard does get some UV light.
Up to the owner, but I think that they need the UV

Yeah my gecko would always bask at night, and hide in his cave during the day, what a life he had

Just about done all my research thorugh some resources now!!

Just need to close down some of my tanks now but will need to wait until I'm back at work to get rid of the fish.

I'm hopefully going round a few reptile stockists on Wednesday afternoon to check out some prices.

Just thought I would update....

I just bought a red phase bearded dragon for £75. I'm going into fast forward now to get everything ordered in and ready.

pics will come as soon as i get the lil fella.

at the moment the breeders are just saving 1 for me, i'ved told them i need to get my viv set up.

sounds like a 1 off case, could of had a bad background to make it agresive, beardies are well known for being able to be handled by even children safely.

Ur probly gonna need a bigger tank. I dont think that thing could turn around in anything short of 4x2 tanks

every reptile forum i'ved asked so far so that my viv (48x18x18) will be fine.

Remember the measurement of 2ft max includes the tail which will be bendy!!

Update...
my viv and equipment is waiting for me at work which i can bring homw with me tomorrow then i might beable to pick up the beardie later on tomorrow night or saturday night.
