Just to clear a few things up...I have read this thread and I don't see any flaming. The thread was originally posted in the Freshwater section, hence why the 'fresh water' people commented on it. The thread went off at a tangent as some threads do on the forum. Please lets not have a 'us and them' attitude on the forum, this will only go on to put people off posting in the future. I was only the other day saying to Ben how this side of the forum is really coming into it's own. Please don't spoil it people.

I may be a little as Ive been away for few days
I am new at starting a salty tank and my very first thought - I want all the fish from finding nemo!
I looked on wiki and listed all the fish and who they were. I really wanted every single one of them, until I looked individually at them online and found I could really only have a few of them and many wouldn't work!

I was actually too scared to ask the question in case I had people thinking I was a fool for asking when it is a general question so I applaud you for having the courage to ask!

Obviously the main choice would be nemo which is fine in the tank but I have looked at other options for lookalikes of the other fish which could be an option if you were interested in still recreating the tank (not the volcano tho haha) with the same fish. Im no expert but someone in the salty side might have some other options that would be similar to go together!

As said the problem with finding nemo is I think they just picked fish that were colourful, take dory, shes lovely and friendy with nemo, when actually the regal tang can be tempermental as far as I have heard. Oh and don't get me started on Bruce... haha! I would love to meet a shark like him that won't eat fish

Anyway we will all help throw some ideas at you (literally) for some other fish Im sure
