Anybody got any? We currently have a few generations of baby goldies in our pond which is not equipped for this large amount of fish.
We recently god rid of about 40-50 five inch goldies but we almost had to pay people to take them.
We want to avoid doing the same again next year as they are extremely difficult to catch and we had to resort to draining the pond to catch them.
I think a way to prevent the fry from surviving would be to remove the plants at the side of the pond but we don't really want to do that.

I thought posting here would be worth a try so does anyone know of way to solve the problem?

To be honest I don't think there is a vast amount you can do. I've read that goldfish like to breed in "green" water, as the fry love it ( I think they feed on the algae at first ) , so if you have that maybe do a big water change to remove as much as possible? You could try catching the adults and sexing them, then getting rid of one sex or the other.

where are you from? US/UK etc..
depending on where you live you may be able to purchase some kind of catfish that will eat some of the smaller fry,

wherever you are i think most of my customers would love to live where you are, atm i'm getting loads of comments about herons and otters and mink etc emptying ponds of fish
