Hiya

Two of my tank's have gotten a real make over the past week and I am very pleased with the look of the tank's, however now the tank's are looking good the stock needs reviewing.... I have posted multiple times and recieved slim to no advice, so I am looking for fish keepers such as CFC, The wolf and other forum regular's for advice on what fish go where etc.

Starting with tank 1: 75 Gallon 48" Long 20" High 18" Wide tank with a Eheim 2213 cannister filter and a jager 300 watt heater.

1 x Neosilurus rendahli (get's to 13" Maximum and that's the absolute max)
1 x Angelfish
1 x Tiger Barbs
1 x Golden Severum
1 x Firemouth
1 x Bristlenose catfish
4 x Kuhlii Loaches
1 x Kribensis
17 x Kribensis Fry
1 x Peacock cichlid
1 x Festivum
1 x Danio (last of a group)
Is this tank overstocked, stocking issue's etc. (The tiger barb issue is obvious.)

Tank 2: 32 gallon 31" Long, 14" wide, 18" high Atman 1000 cf internal Filtration

1 x African Butterfly fish
4 x Synodontis Nigriventris ( 3 juvinile's)
2 x Neohomaloptera johorensis ( "Gecko Loach")
2 x Port Hoplo Catfish
1 x Bumble Bee Catfish
4 x Albino Catfish
3 x Peppered Catfish
2 x Bronze corydoras
1 x Spiny eel
1 x Juvinile Synodontis eupterus
1 x Tiny Cuckoo Catfish
Over stocked (seem's obvious), stocking issues' etc.
The water spec's are all 0 (haven't tested for Nitrates for awhile however). The obvious issue is it's overstocked once fully grown. The eupterus will be moved once larger.

Tank 3: 32" long 15" high 8" wide, Currently quarentine tank.

1 x Anostomus anotomus for aggression
1 x Jaguar Cichlid ( The real issue as it will be moved to the 75 and if it is non- aggressive I wish to keep it but what about the other fish if there is 0 aggression)

Now I have alot of decent aquarium's around my area which will most likely take fish in. The Kribensis will be sold or given to a aquarium as they are about 6 month old fry.

I would say im 99% sure the jag needs to go unless you want it solo in the 75.

Also Anostomus anotomus are striped headstanders right? They really need to be in groups.

striped headstanders actually don't need to be in groups they are either solo or LARGE group fish and I have never seen another for sale anywhere. I got that information after hours of research. And the Jaguar appears to be a female as female's grow smaller but is still an issue.

The 75g has a lot of Cichlids in it for a relatively small area, personally i never stock more than two Cichlid species per tank (with the exception obviously of African rift set ups) to allow for fish to have enough room to establish proper territories, South and Central American Cichlids are also high bioload fish so there must be quite a strain on the biological filter of the tank, which means if something goes wrong it will go wrong fast. Adding the jag into that tank is going to cause you trouble and i would expect to kill most if not all of the current inhabitants, jags are species tank only fish and at best can be combined with large armoured catfish and good sized fast dithers.

The second tank looks ok to me apart from the eupterus which you have already identified as being moved, they are all fairly small fish which contribute a low bioload, although it would be better to actually know what the albino catfish is.

Oh I apologise I thought I mentioned it they are just albino and peppered cories.
What would the second tank be like once fully grown minus the eupterus? Also the Jaguar will need to be moved to a aquarium as I have gone through my stocking and it is all mucked up because of the Jaguar. My mother is saying I was irresponsible and kind of abusing me because she loves the fish and doesn't want to get rid or it and I attempted to explain that in the book I own the wrong info is in it but she wanted to ignore that Lol. And she said and whats the next fish you buy and it's to big and aggressive and you take it back...saying I did it all the time the only fish I've ever taken back is a Dwarf Gourami.... Argh im frustrated now...!!!!!!!!!

Minus the eupterus i think the second tank is fine, though you may want to move the hoplos to the 75g when they get to full size just to give them a bit more room.

Yep that was what I was thinking. The peacock will most likely go to a aquarium along with all or most of the kribensis... Which will leave in the 75

1 x Neosilurus rendahli (get's to 13" Maximum and that's the absolute max)
1 x Angelfish
1 x Tiger Barbs
1 x Golden Severum
1 x Firemouth
1 x Bristlenose catfish
4 x Kuhlii Loaches
1 x Festivum
6 x Harliquin Rasbora's
1 x Danio (last of a group)
1 x Anostomus Anostomus ( will move back due to sufficient hiding spots for the rendahls. The tiger barb school may be increased aswell as the danio's although the last of the group like's to school with the rasbora's and also seems quite old. What would you move from the current 75 gallon stocking list CFC?

Personally i would remove the firemouth as it is a Central american not a South American and the 2 shouldnt be mixed IMO. The rasboros and khulies will get eaten sooner or later so i would remove them as well as the danio, and i would remove the angel fish which will get nipped by the tiger barbs

This would leave you with the severum and festivum, shoal of tiger barbs, bristlenose and rendahls catfish and the anostomus. I would then add a group of surface dwellers such as silver hatchet fish and maybe an oddball of some kind such as a medium sized sleaper goby as a character fish.

So perhaps move the kuhlii's rasbora's and danio to the catfish tank. The Firemouth is not aggressive however if it show's problems it will be moved. Catching all those kribensis is going to be hell Lol... Thanks a heap for the help CFC any other advise in say getting fish to the aquarium etc. Also the angel isn't a veiltail version and if the tiger barb group is large enough may there be no attacks... of course there may not be but the % of a vicious attack would be around where?

If it were me, I'd add another filter to the 75 gallon or get a larger filter - especially if you plan on keeping larger / messier fish. I used my 2213 on a 20 gallon. And always over filter anyway. I feel the estimate by most filters (including Eheim) are too generous.

I was thinking of adding an extra filter as also the Rendahls catfish's well...POO is very much that of a large cichlids.

Update!!!!

The Jaguar has been taken to a local aquarium and I was given $5 for it. I rang over 5 aquariums and none would take it then I rang one which last time I went was awful but now was great. I rang them and said I had a jaguar cichlid that needed to find a new home the women replied with the scientific name and that they will take it ( Anyone that pulls out the scientific name for a fish for no real reason has more credibility to work at a lfs :p)

Well catching this highly intelligent fish wasn't great fun but went without a real hitch. I got there the fish was put into a around 30 gallon tank and I was told it was male due to the pointed anal fin and that it may have a little fungus ( right where the guy dropped it). The fungus was hard to see without good lighting and a stressed fish. This women also previously owned a Jaguar in a 5 foot tank. It was very nasty and would charge at people and headbutt it's tank wall at stranger's and would bite anyone bar her. She then got the fish it's own little cave and rocks for it ( pleased me no end and my mother).

I then bought 4 tiger barbs and a large spiny eel that I couldn't resist and was very healthy. Later in the day I bought a internal filter for the 75 and it does 500 litre's per hour ( will that help much?). I then bought plant's, frozen food and a whiptail catfish which was in a tiny little aquarium Im not exactly sure the type but I think it's a... sturisoma something... my mind has drawn a blank Lol
