Not sure if I should post this in the tropical fish or Betta forum. . .

I have four bettas and will be moving. Right now I'm on city water I treat with conditioner. The new house will have well water, but also a reverse osmosis system, so I can use one or both kinds of water.

First off, what is the best way of acclimating the fish to the new water?
Also, would it be better to use all reverse osmosis water, all well water, or a combination of both?

I don't have all the well water stats with me, but can post once I do.

Just looking for general thoughts and ideas. Thanks!

If you have an idea of the mineral content of your present water, try to match that in your new location at first. I would then try to gradually, over many weeks, try to shift the balance in your new location to match the tap water there. Let us assume that your present tap water, which you are using, has 200 ppm of mineral content. If your new location has 300 ppm of mineral content, try a mix of RO and tap water that gives something close to 200 ppm. I would expect that to be 2 parts tap water at 300 ppm and 1 part RO at next to nothing. If you have some other concentration of minerals at each end, you can see that what I mam trying to do is keep the fish at a constant level of minerals. That means your fish will experience very little stress making the move and you can gradually move them toward having straight tap water in their tank.
