Hi, i accidently submerged a standard juwel heater its still working i twizzled the thermostat knob and it still goes on and off but its making a popping sound every few odd seconds? it was in the water turned on for about 3 mins.

Thanks

I'm sure it will be fine, I have submersed mine (100 Watt) many times with no ill effect to the heater.

Any reason why you cant submerge them? Mine are fully submerged as they are on the tank walls, not in the actual filter units.

I read somewhere i think and it has a max and min water line so i just assumed its wasn't ive taken it out to let it dry out and got my spare in.

Thanks

if its making a popping sound that is the sound of it boiling water that got inside..... If it is supposeably submersible you won't be able to take it apart very easy. If it is a non-submersible, then it is best to take it apart and dry it best you can. The issue with this is the ceramic part the coils go around loves to absorb water and can be a pain to dry. It will look and feel dry, but when hot you can hear it boiling the water...

I have Juwel Tanks and heaters.

I cannot find a max water line on the 3 heaters I have.

There are max fill lines on Juwel tanks but that's there so you do not submerge the Juwel light units that hang from the top of the tank.

I have had a submerged Juwel heater for over a year with no problem. However I have never had a heater that makes a popping noise and I would treat it with caution but that's my hummble opinion

plastic bag
some rice
radiator

put the heater in the bag with the rice, seal the bag and put it on a radiator - the rice should absorb the moisture

Does it have an IP (Ingress Protection)code written on it? The newer Juwel heaters have IP 68 as far as I know, the 8 means they are protected for being submerged constantly. My Juwel heater is about 600miles away at my parents, therefore I can´t check
