- Quote from bettatalk.comIt started in Siam some 150 years ago. The Siamese people would fight bettas, and hence the first form of betta madness was born: People would wager everything they owned, even their families! These betta fights were popular, so much so that the King of Siam decided to license them and to collect on them as well.
Actually it's not illegal in the United States (or anywhere that I'm aware of). So there won't be any government agency knocking on his door. Instead all he is getting is a bunch of free advertisement here, and sometimes even bad adverstisment is "good" for business unfortunatelyxXMrBonesXx said:im glad they have a "contact us" option
and i quote myself here
"your site is <mod edit> stupid.... these fish are not bread to fight, just because their called "Siamese Fighting Fish" which isnt even thier real name by the way (Betta splendens) they only fight their own kind and dont even bother with other fish.
It's illegal to fight dogs so im guessing its illegal to fight fish and im pretty sure someone will be around to report you to a government agency about animal cruelty or inhumane treatment, i know i would if i knew any.
have fun rotting in hell
im pretty sure half the members on here are going to send hate mail
Hi,
I appreciate your "deep concern" about the alleged abuse of Siamese Fighting
Fish.
You know something - I am not going to drag myself to your low-life level by
resorting to the use of mono-syllabic Anglo-Saxon swear words (if you
understand what I'm saying). Sanctimonious morons like you should direct your
excess time and frustrations at going after more pressing causes that plague
this world of ours - a world that is screwed up by imbeciles like your goodself!
A true despicable Internet coward - that's what you are. Hide behind the shield
of cover that this vehicle offers self-styled crusaders like you!
