Hi all

I thought i'd post this as i was reading quite a lot about Bio Spira that is available in the US but i could not find it over here in the UK.

I started cycling my tank two weeks ago using fish and by last week thursday i had ammonia at about 1.6 ppm and nitrites at 5.0ppm.

On friday night i added a bottle of ABIL live bacteria to the tank (treats 125lts) and tested every day up until last night.

Last night my readings for ammonia went down to 0.1 ppm and nitrites .25ppm :)

It seems as though this product works very well as my fish are a lot happier now and the test kits prove it.

It costs £13.25 per 100ml bottle and it's distributed by TMC.

Hope this may help some of you out there :)

Did you mail order it lilt man or buy it at a shop?? :/

SOunds like it works a lot better than cycle!! :D

I am about to buy some for my 30 gallon, ill let you guys know how it works out

Actually those readings you gave are normal in any cycle whether chemicals are used or not.

If I read you correctly, you are saying that within a week you had an ammonia spike drop off, then nitrites peak and a week later they are almost zero?

If so, that's exactly what a normal cycle does for free without the the additions of anything and from what I've read, Bio-Spira cycles a tank in a matter of just a couple days.

Not trying to argue or debate you at all but am trying to learn so I hope you take it as such. If I am wrong, please correct me tho.
