Fish Addict
Hi DG
The tap water in Plymouth is very soft, 1GH, <1KH. I do use a RO unit to take out the nastiest that the water company add.
The tank in the front room, is filled with tap water, (this is the tank that the photos are from.
The fish house is mainly filled with RO water. 50 galls added each day, just have the output from the RO unit feeding into the filter. I add remineralization salts when needed.
I do add tap water when doing tank cleanouts, but only during the winter, as during the summer, the water company adds more nastiest to the water due to the higher demand for water during the tourist season.
