I thought i might talk about my trip to my LFS or may not be local due to its location which makes it hard to go there on a regular basis

I had a chance to go there as my aunt was with me for the whole day so we left about in the afternoon and had to guide her on where to go which was the frustrating part

When we arrived i didnt get the name of the place but i see a banner that says "water world & pet world". When i went in they had a good range of products including all or i think most of Seachem company products which my pets@home dont have. i noticed that they had a tank with turtles in it which i think were £15 each. i also saw the better model of tank which i have and i have the aqua start 320 and they have the aqua start 320T.

The best part was when we went into the other room with all the tanks in and on the start on the left side was marine fish which makes this LFS the best for me as they are the only place i know that have marine fish and they had tomato clownfish, lion fish (venomes), serpas tang, puffers and some other which i forgot their names on. a few tanks to the right were tropical fish so they had guppies, angels and those other fish that you see in a local pets@home then they had discus fish, pirhanas

, arowanas, puffers (i think they are tropical), albino frogs, glass cat fish, albino and normal ruby sharks, hatchet fish and some others which wont be seen in Pets@home which ive forgoten.

When we left that room there was a room on the left which had a range of large tanks in there on the right including JUWEL and aqua one. I found 3 tanks which were from aqua one which were the aquanto 132, aqua marine 900 with marisys 240 and aqua pro something which i was looking into the filter set up at the back. the right side was i think domestic pet products and there was another room which followed upfrom that room which had rabbits, lizards, snakes, scorpions and more including dogs which maximum cost was £1200

When we left those 2 rooms there was the last room which had coldwater fish in it like koi, fancy, goldfishes and i think thats it

After all that my aunty wanted to go home and i still wanted to stay in the shop untill she went back into the car and 5 minutes later she came back in to get me which made me manage to get some blood worms which i havent got for 5-6 years since i was advised to get it for my goldfish which had swimbladder and it would help.

The place is great although when i went there in September i bought API melafix which i was late to notice that it's expiry was a month away so they can have old product but other then that they have an excellent range of tropical fish except i didnt see any tropical shell dwellors or shrimps

Q: are albino and ruby sharks alright for community fish as there was a colour code to to show how well a fish was in a community which were green for excellent with community, yellow for in the middle and red for that they need their own tank and need special food requirements and there was a green sticker on their name so are they good? I also spotted 2 albino ruby sharks fighting each other and another tank with alot of ruby sharks in it had a neon tetra which they didnt harm or bother.

Q: Can you name me any species of plecs which grow minimum 15 centimeters that you see in your LFS as i was looking for a bristlenose plec but i didnt see it but a normal and albino which grow about 30cm

P.S: my aunty took some pics on her Iphone so ill see if i can upload them on here when she sends them

Albino and Ruby sharks are NOT good community fish - they may be fine at their current age but as they get older they will get aggressive and bully smaller fish or any long finned fish.

They can be kept in a large 300 litres+ community with larger semi aggressive fish but are not ideal for the general beginners community.

If your tank is the Aqua Start 320 (28 litres) then there are no plecs that can for in a tank that small - in fact very few fish can be kept in such a small tank.

Okay, i forgot to mention that i was talking about putting a plec in my next tank that we might get which is the aquastyle 980 and my dad doesnt want a fish that will grow too big and he did tell me that maximum would be 15cm also can you tell me the name of the plec that they have in pets@home? Also fed my fish those blood worms and luckily i i cut the block in half as that may of been too much

The other fish which they didnt have in their tanks and was out of stock as they had their names on the tank were cardinal tetras, elephant nose and knife fish and they probably had more but i didnt see

The dogs are in a small/ medium glass room and the rabbits are in their cages outside that

Oh ok then. I don't want the poor rabbits to feel like they're about to become dinner!!!!!!

I love their tanks their. if only my room wasnt going down construction which i would say is in March which my dad tolled me and i have to sleep in the living room while it gets done and i cant get a bigger tank like 50l but it probably would be good as i may have an excuse to get the aquastyle 980 for the living room as the current tank is in my room so after my room is finished there may be no space meaning i could get it :D
