Thinking about a friend who is going through hard times. I've always loved these old Scottish laments. Sad as they are, there is always a feeling of hope, of consolation, even a call to arms just under the surface.

Anyway, here you go. Enjoy.

Semi off topic but the artist seems to be a true multi instrumentalist too, (I know it was dubbed, edited and produced), but he knew his way around each instrument, that was evident.

Thanks for the kind words! I didn't do too much slicing and dicing of the instrument parts; one small edit on the guitar was all, along with a little reverb. The video is another story, though. My video editing kung-fu is weak. Had to chop it up a bit to make it fit the sound.

Anyway. Glad you enjoyed it. :)

I’m English from families not far from the border. They’ve been coming over it for over a thousand years stealing our sheep and women……and vica versa. Reivers they were called on the English side and Clans they’re called on the Scottish side of it.

They can lament all they want but they’re not getting their sheep back and we don’t want our woman folk back either. It was a fair deal as far as we’re concerned.

Somehow I missed that it was your own creation... well done!

Reminds me of those two hunters I overheard last month:
"Got a new shotgun for my wife."
"Huh. Good trade."
