My 10 gallon Betta Tank that I have a lot more work to do on.  I'm thinking of adding a bristlenose pleco to it to help with alage and maybe a few cory I'm not sure yet about the extra fish.  I do want to add some live plants here and there later as time goes on.  I thought about putting a few females in here with him but decided not to do to the fact that I didn't want anything to happen to the fish and I don't want to take the time it would take to handle any fry that was born in the tank.

And a new picture of Fuzzy.  This poor guy isn't to sure of what to do about me yet.  Plus he likes to hang out in the back of the tank most of the time.  I'm hoping as he gets more use to the tank and me that he'll come more to the front when he sees me.

I know I want to put some swords in here and haven't really decided on what else but will figure it out.  I know also that it will be awhile before I totally get it the way I want when we are also going to stock a 20 gallon for now with some bala and rainbow sharks with maybe a couple of blue goumi plus it will have a few platies that we have breed in it also.  My hubby saw this kind of set up at our local Petco.

I will post more as I do more to this tank.

Lovely little tank and I am glad to see him with this much space.  A 10 gallon is not big enough to house a BN pleco or most corys. The only corys that I recommend for any tank less than 20 gallons is one of the 3 species of pygmy cory which stay really small.  Fuzzy should get more used to everything the longer he is in the tank and adding more plants will help with that as well.

As for your other tank...bala sharks need well over 100 gallon tank and the rainbow sharks need at least a 50 gallon so neither is acceptable for a 20 gallon tank unfortunately.

Definitely keep the pics coming.

Oh I and just noticed something.  I don't see a heater or a thermometer.  Do you have them?  If not you need to get them because the temperature needs to stay a stable temp of no less than 78F.

When you say you want to add swords, do you mean amazon swords or swordtails? Definitely get him some broad leaf plants as they will help him feel more comfortable in his home. They like to rest on the leaves, you see.

by putting a few females in there, did you mean female bettas? please remeber that 2 females can barley exist with each other, much less its impossible for them to coexist with males.

The heater is there behind the right rock with the thermometer in front of the rock.

I'm going to put some amazon sword plants in as soon as I can afford to.

And I was thinking of adding 2 female bettas originally but as I said I changed my mind because I didn't want anything to happen to the fish and I DON'T want to deal with offspring and the care it takes for them. I will leave that to those that have the patience room and time. Plus my plates keep me pretty busy with taking care of offspring as it is so really get that fun there. Although to be honest I would love to see what colors his offspring would throw.

Amazon swords are excellent for betta fish. They are easy to care for and have the right sort of leaves for betta fish. Good choice on those. Of course, they do get really tall so you'll have to regularly trim yours (I trim with every other water change), but they will still be good in your tank. :)

I would get anubias instead of swords as the swords may take over your tank. Anubias has a nice wide leaf as well which he would like.

I have several swords in my ten gallon. The only thing that could take over the tank may be the root system, but the whole plant can do well. However, anubias plants are also a good choice. I like a. congensis and nana.

Ok I went out today and hubby handed me an Amazon Sword plant and asked me if I wanted 1 or 2 and I told him let's just get 1 for now and also grabbed an Assorted Anubias.  When we got home I realized there was 4 separate plants in the Amazon Sword so we placed 2 swords and the Anubias in Fuzzy's tank and then placed the other 2 swords in my 30 gallon.  I will post pictures later of Fuzzy's tank with the plants.  I will be getting some more but it may be a week or two as I'm not sure what we will be able to afford yet.  But I'm slowly getting there and I wouldn't mind finding some shorter plants to put in the front of his tank.

All of these plants are placed in the rock for growing so I hope they all will grow...lol

The swords will be fine in the gravel/rock. For the anubias, either tie them on something to where the roots are not in the gravel/rock or pull them up to where the roots are the only thing under the gravel/rock.  The little area between the roots and leaves is called the rhizome and it has to be above the gravel/rock or it will die.

Ok here are the photos of what I've done so far with Fuzzy's home.  I want to add some more plants but it might take a week or two before I get a few more plants to add to it.

And here is Fuzzy's new tank mate Stripes.  So far everything seems to be going ok.  Fuzzy did check him out yesterday when he was first introduced to the aquarium but apparently Fuzzy's not too worried about him because he was still alive when I checked on them this morning

A week after I placed the plants in Fuzzy's tank.  I think they are taking off pretty well.  I do need to trim a leaf on the sword on the right as I think it got burnt on the heater.  But for not having any fertilizer or plant helpers it's not doing to bad of course there are only 3 real plants in the tank....lol
