Well, after loosing my first ever female Betta yesterday I'm still very upset..
I went to go feed my other baby, Amber, who I created a thread about earlier today. She wasn't in the tank.
I started freaking out. She was in the tank only an hour ago when I checked her..
The tank she is in has a lid, surely she couldn't have gotten out - but she did; somehow.
I decided to look on the floor around my tank, and I found her - dead.
I was crying, and still trying to figure out how she could have escaped. I started inspecting every part of the tank, then I came across the hole at the back of the lid where the the airline tubing, heater, filter cables come out. The gap is less than 1cm big - just enough for my baby to jump through.
This hole is so small, it never occurred to me that any of the fish could jump out through it.. but it is the only possible way.
She will be buried next to her 'big sister' Sapphire, where she can rest in peace
With her 'big sister':
RIP Amber and Sapphire, I will never forget you
