Does anyone know a good cleanup crew for a 15G Freshwater tank with sand in? I don't want creatures that will come out of the tank, and preferably something small, it needs to be reasonably cheap and reasonably easy to look after.
Thanks in advance,
Neal

PS- Ask any questions if you need to, I don't mind replying!

Cleaning up excess food or algae?

Regardless of what you get (won't give you any suggestions unless I know what yiou want cleaned up), you still might need to feed the "scanvengers" special foods (i.e. pellets/ worms for corydoras) if you want them to stay healthy.

You cannot add anything to your already grossly overstocked tanks. A clean up crew will produce waste as well. They don't eat other fish's waste.....

So sorry, but no - based on what I know about your tanks - I recommend to add absolutely nothing :/

Continue to do very regular water changes and gravel vacs.

I was just wondering for when I get my new tank if theres anything good that could clean up basically muck, but i'll have to do that. It's SF05's post that inspired me with his shrimp and snails! My mollie just gave birth too, so i'm going to sell them to my LFS and I may even sell a few more of my fish while i'm at it.

Ahh I see. Yeah, unfortunately nothing eats muck :/ well nothing that you could or would want to keep in your tank anyway. Get that gravel vac out ;)

I don't have one, but it may be something I consider buying. Or I could just do it my way, use a net and get the junk out. It's pretty easy.
Thanks,
Neal

i'd suggest getting a gravel vacum, i found it a worthwhile investment, but if your way works well, stick with what you know. :D i would suggest mabye some shrimps to clean up algae as the algae eating fish such as plecs can grow quite large, i bought my common plec at about 2inchs, he is now 8inches!!! :hyper: anyway, i'm a bit new but just a suggestion... hope i havn't given any bad advice... :*)

It's good advice, I was thinking of getting some shrimp before but was told by my LFS lady they don't get many in as they rarely make it through transportation. Well, like I said when I sort my new tank out I can start thinking about my stocking.
