this (i believe) is a mycedium elephantotus but we have renamed it a spiny lumpaphilyia as it is, indeed, spiny and lumpy.

also i purchased a fish i was sure was one thing but has turned out to be another, i am now the proud owner of a red sea cleaner wrasse, cant wait till it starts munching my corals. BAH, so much for my well researched eye.

Ok few problems with the tank recently, the new wrasse has just finished eating all of my sps, LFS has apologised profusely on the mis-ID and has promised allsorts if only I can catch the b@sterd fish (pardon my French)

We also lost the unknown nem, it was last seen being eaten by a peppermint so only god knows what it was.

had a few suprises today, came home to find my 3 frogspawns looking a bit narky so i had a closer look, brown flatworms!!! where the hell did they come from??? so the RO came out and everything got dipped. luckily my wrasses have now decided they like flaties and have gone around moping up the straglers.
BUT thats not all looking into the tank just a moment ago i noticed a small rock had been moved, upon closer inspection i noticed a pair of antenna, a red head with a white stripe. great i got me a eunice worm! so panic sets in when i realise, ive added nothing he could of been in, no coral i have added had enough rock to host the blighter so he must of been in there from the start. panic over :) ive named him jerry.

so this tank has been struck by problems after problems, i lost all my frogspawns to flatworms and the turbinaria failed.
i now have a green torch that is thriving (so far) and a green gonipora that after 2 months seems to be growing, it alot different to the last one i tryed to keep as i can never see its skeleton when its inflated, under the tentacles is just a mass of flesh.
i will be picking up some sympodium later from the LFS.

sadly i came home the other night to find my lights had died (ballast had blown) and i had a fair bit of tank water on the floor and no electricity.
my nem doesnt look good and as its only had my back up LED's for the weekend it really hasnt been to happy. hopefully today when i get my new ballast unit it will be abit happier.

Sorry to hear about that! What caused the flood?

Flood was caused by the peri pump that keeps the overflow going going out with the power but the return pump (which was foolishly on another circuit) staying on. Luckily it was only 5-6lt but that was enough lol. Got a new unit now and everything should be fine.
