Ok, few questions i have and hopefully some of you maybe able to help me

first of all is what colour range would you get from 2 parents the same colour, dumb question but is it poss to get say the blue/green/seethrough/white ect from it

All the test results in the water are fine, checked em a few times and again today, all running sweet as, just i have a mollie, which i thought was male, but turns out to be female, and getting a but of a tub, but she is getting really nasty towards every other fish, the platys, the swordtail, and the other female mollie.

and i also read on here that frozen peas are good for them, do you mean as in peas i would eat with my tea, u know garden peas (not slushy ones lol)

At the moment i have then on a few flakes in the morning, and blood worm for night, the frozen ones. what other foods can i feed them, and if u say like peas, could u say as in from shop or like from your freezer, the stuff you eat!

Is their anyway of telling what gallon my tank is, as i bought it from a mate, dont worry cleaned it ect, but he cannot remember the size as its like ages ago!

by the way i am from the uk, halifax to be spasific, love the fish breeding scene and i also actually do carp fishing (as in like with a rod/pole ect) and they seem to be big big fans of sweetcorn ect, might sound daft but the bait i use like sweetcorn and cat food (not actually from a tin but like made for fishing) could i feed them this.

cheers for the help, some umb questions i know but i gotta ask someone, betta someone i cannot see laughing lol!

if the platys or mollies are true breeds then you will get the same fry, if they are mixed in colours hybrids then you will get a mixture of colours, most mollies from LFS are hybrids anyway and some platys and mollies give out what are called throw backs which is the original gene structures used to create that breed.

pregnant mollies infact most pregnant livebearers can get a bit grumpy when coming close to dropping their fry so dont worry about it

frozen and garden peas are good for them but they need to be cooked and shelled before adding to the tank, never use canned peas as they hold a large amount of salt and other things that you dont want your fish eating.

you should only be feeding fish that you are planning to breed once a day and live or frozen food once or twice a week instead of the flake, otherwise you will have to increase water changes to reduce your nitrates and if you have a sudden wipeout of bacteria then you will have a massive peak in ammonia which will kill your fish very quickly which be produced from the high waste from the fish.

to found out the water volume of your tank use this site http://www.fishlore.com/ConversionCalculator.htm

boiled cucumber, carrot and spinach are good for fish but in small quantities and remove any uneaten

hope this info helps :good:

yes, thank you very much mate any more tips!

only, when or if you put the females to drop in a seperate tank, have the temp of that tank 2 degrees higher than the main tank and when born feed 3 times a day with 10% water changes every day to, this helps with the growth of healthier fish than normal and get some fry food ready. microworms are ideal
