PLEASE someone out there come to my aid, ive been keeping fish for a few years and am getting fed up with going to my usual trader to buy my fish and the staff knowing NOTHING and myself being very unhappy with my purchases that i were told are right but ARENT.

although im okay on my fish i cant always tell the sex so when i ask they give me there SO CALLED knowledge yes its female no its male etc. Only to find when i get them home and settled in for a few days there either male or female and the complete oposite to what i wanted.

so the big question is where can i get the correct male and female forms of fish via mail order as ive given up with my local company's.
Im in Whiteley, Southampton just so people can help.

www.trimar.co.uk. I believe they're in Cornwall, so you might be able to manage the trip. Have a look at their stock list on their website. They've been sending fish by mail for years, always immaculately boxed and packed.

Maidenhead Aquatics, Fair Oak, Southampton.
There's a place in Totton near ASDA too.

Check the Practical Fish Keeper Magazine store finder. Is useful for fining local stores.

Maidenhead aquatics in fair oak want to know every detail of your tank before they sell you a fish which in ways is good but they have really put me off buying as they ask too many questions when i know what i want and just want to get in, choose the fish, buy and get home again.

Will be making a trip over to totton 2moro to have a look at there range as everyone on here has given them praise so must count for something :D

It's a shame every LFS doesn't do that.

Im after some female dwarf gourami's and a couple of female bronze cory's aswell, the only other fish i was after is a pair of Rams as mine have recently passed on and i never kept there offspring as i gave them all away to freinds.

Must depend on the person you talk to - went there once and bought some fish, guy didn't say a word, just bagged them up and took them to the till.

TBH I'd keep clear of Dwarf Gouramis for now due to the fatal Iridovirus afflicting them.

I cant recommend trimar enough. They are based in Cambourne in cornwall. Experienced staff who know what they are talking about. Very reasonably priced and even deliver the fish to your door!
