A Day at Marineland! dial-up warning

SEQUINS!!!

Looking great!

Yes, put sequins on, sequins are great! Although they'd have to be sewn on well so that they don't fall off....because then you might have a walrus or something eating it..

It's gonna look great!

 some people have all the luck.... :sly:

Those are some awesome pics!! I love Buttercup! :D

Yep, Buttercup's a walrus.. she's a very affectionate one too, she just loves having her face rubbed. When I go in on Wednesday I'm going to try to get more pics of her being her cute self.. not to mention the harbour seals!

Oh my gosh - I LOVE that blind guy.
You will have to make sure to tell him about my little blind guy :)

How exciting for you!
I can't wait to see the costume!

Dang, talk about a dream job...

Oh, and buttercup is ADORABLE too.

Thats fantastic littlefishie!! I can't wait to see the finished product!!!

Just to let you know, I was "kicked out" of sewing class in school for a few reasons :

1. Couldn't sew a straight line
2. Made a pair of shorts and sewed the back left to the front left....OOPS
3. Broke all the crayony things sharpening them
4. Put a sewing machine needle RIGHT through my finger
5. Put the needle in the sewing machine the wrong way so that it went flying out the sewing machine and broke a window

I recently inherited my grandmothers sewing machine which has one of those computer card thingies and all these weird attachments that I have no idea what to do with. I am too scared to take it out of the box let alone use it.

How in the hell did you manage that?

Great news, I managed to take even MORE pictures today at the official orientation.. I'm about to Photoshop 'em and post them.. I got some of the beluga whales, and some absolutely fantastic shots of Echo the female dolphin.. she's so gorgeous and affectionate, when I was next to the tank taking shots of her she swam right up to the edge and nudged my hand with her nose cos she wanted to be petted! :hyper: I spent the next half hour just playing with her and getting her to do tricks, which she did happily for a friendly pat rather than a reward of herring goodness!

Gawd, I love my job.. :D Oh, and the first costume is almost done.. just have to finish one more buttonhole on the pants, and then sew on the sequins. That's right. I got sequins :)

I agree, sequins are amazing! I have blue sequins and red metallic beads, to go around the cuffs of the sleeves and the pants. :D

And now for the pictures! I'm sorry there aren't any of the killer whales, but they were splashing so damned much I didn't want to risk getting the camera out.

I did get the belugas though:

And the dolphins! Today they enjoyed staying still for the camera.. I have pictures of Storm, Echo, and Tulo.

Those are all Storm and Tulo.

And this is Echo! She's my new baby girl, she is a thousand times more affectionate than Buttercup, and 100% less whiskery. She just loves attention, she swims right over to the edge of the tank when I come near it, and refuses to leave until I rub her nose.

There are 7 pictures of her that turned out.. Gawd I love this girl!

^^^ Not my dirty glass! It's salt streaks from when they like to splash water over the edges of the tank.

And that's it for today for park shots! :D I'm going to go work on my costume for a while now, to try and finish it tonight.

I think I'm going to move the costume stuff over to non-fish photographs if that's okay with the mods, because I don't want to clutter up the fishiness of the thread with costume pictures unless it's me with a dolphin or something!

So check non-fish photographs later if you want to see more costume pictures. :)

Echo is a real doll, but gosh, I just love belugas!!

That's one of my favourite things about her.. I noticed that Storm and Tulo get moody and can actually convey that kind of expression, but I've never seen Echo upset! She never fails to grin, and the second I whip my camera out to get a picture of her she grins even more.
