It is National book day here in South Africa, so we're having a little fun with books on facebook.... Let's see how it goes here on Tff....

Take the book closest to your computer, go to page 52 and quote the 5th sentence on that page..... Post it here, but do not quote the title of the book....

Mine is not too exciting.... it reads as follows:
"Oh no!, I'm not marrying you, I've had one husband and that is plenty".

What does your book say????

"It prefers a temperature of 24 to 26dg C, a ph of between 5.5 and 8.0 and hard water."

I kid ye not.

"On Christmas Eve, while families around the world sang carols and wrapped presents, a consignment of 100 tigers was flown from Thailand to the tropical island of Hainan in Southern China ($2500 apiece)"

:look:

"For my Sport, Being efficient is the priority, Strenght is good. but efficiency is vital for MMA"

:)

The slaves were fed more than the legionaries, it was said, but watching the rise and fall of the beams in the water, he could see why it was needed.

Ok, the 3 books in the living room were 2 kids stories and 1 instruction manual, none of which had more than 30 pages, so this is from the first book I came across while randomly wandering the house:

"If they subjected the 'learners' to shocks all the way through the scale to the maximum level, they were designated 'obedient'; if they refused to continue to administer electric shocks at any earlier point, they were regarded as having disobeyed."

"Saranen has several studies about the substance of material things beyond herb-craft, especially the character of stone".

Just as well it wasn't the dictionary that is usually left at the computer.

Milgram experiment?

Mine is, "Patterning came much later, when knitting became a domestic hobby rather than a way of earning a living"

its always possible that some of them will die of that.

lol

What the hell kind of fish needs hard, pH 5.5 water?!

:p

It's a great urban legend that to be caught chewing gum in public while in Singapore will mean facing years in a dark, dank prison being flogged three times a day.
