89l Convict Tank

Cheers, i was just a bit worried about being big enough, tho im only keeping a pair so it should be to bad for them.

Thanks, Joemuz

Thats why i havnt got any in :sad:
So at least i know that its big enough to house a pair of fully grown cons! There is a breeding pair for sale at my lfs and the owner said he will save them for me! £20 for the pair! Very succesfull breeding pair thats why the previous owner got rid of them, as he couldnt flog the babies quick enough! :p
Cheers, Joemuz

Nice tank, 20gallons long right? Should be suitable as most people would use a 10gallon tank then remove the parents after... good job :)

89L = 29 US gallons 30" , 12" , 12"
I didnt think it would be big enough but looks like im wrong!
Cheers everyone, Joemuz

30"x12"x12" isn't 29g, it's more like 20g. 19 US gallons, I think? About 72 litres.

well what ever it is i think its big enough (fingers crossed)
Cheers, Joemuz

What are you going to do with the fry once they are a few weeks old and the adults want to breed again?

The parents of the convicts won't breed again until the fry either die off, get removed from the tank, or grow to sustain themselves with no help... but that does raise an interesting point, are you planning on raising the fry and culling them? or are you just going to take them to an LFS and sell them off?

My lfs did me a huge favour so i told the man that runs it he can have the fry for free!
