5 gallon stand?

I need a stand for a five gallon tank. $50 or less. I was thinking I'd just pick up a cheapo end table from Amazon, but all the ones in my price range are rated to hold less than 50 pounds. I'm not averse to building one as long as it's easy, but I'm far from expert as a woodworker and don't have time to take on a huge learning project. Heck, I'm not averse to stacking up a few cinder blocks, and it might very well come to that. At least the price is right. Any other ideas? @Naterjm @Boundava

I got a table for my 20H tank at goodwill for about $15. My 5.5 is on an end table out of my mom's storage unit. I had a 10 gallon on a table from Walmart.

I agree to check out the used market (I know where you live that probably means a drive). A 5 gallon is only 60+/- pounds, so as long as you stay away from anything made by IKEA, you should be golden. Making a stand to support that much weight isn't that difficult. Pretty cheap, too. A hand saw, some cheap pine and a few wood screws and you're in business. I might make one for my 5 gallons here soon. If I do, I'll hit you up.

A 5 gallon tank is about 20kg. If a person can sit on the table, the tank will be fine. Fill up a 20 litre bucket and put it on a table. If the table doesn't move, the tank won't either.

Most hardware stores sell cheap metal shelving and most of those hold 50+kg per shelf, and the units only cost around $10-15.00.

Thanks for the input, everybody. Going by the weight ratings in the product descriptions, most of the kit shelves on Amazon are too weak (rated to 45# or less). Those metal shelves from @eatyourpeas look like the most viable option, but I'm more going for the wood and brick look in my music studio. I might just redneck engineer something from bricks and 2x4s, or actually find some plans and build something like @Flushable Pets suggested. We do have a couple goodwill stores in town, and a bigger one in Riverton a few dozen miles down the road, if it's still in business, so I might go check that out.

It isn't legal to salvage roadkill in Wyoming. Kind of a dumb law, if you ask me.
