I am after some advice on getting a new tropical tank. I currently have a 4ft Juwel 240 litre setup with external filter, but wish to go bigger.
However, i can't go wider than 4ft in it's current location, so need to know anyone that does taller tanks?
Failing that it would need to be moved, however this would put it in direct sunlight for the first 6hrs of the day. Is this a good idea? The windows are filmed with a high spec UV stopping film that reduces heat by 30% an reduces Infa red.
I am only stocking it with the usual Mollies, tetras etc as the kids love this, and find it more interesting that watching tv most of the time!
Any advice and suggestion very welcome

i think the tank you have is the best for what you want.

deeper tanks IMO can be a pain in the backside. plus it can be harder for your top-middle-bottom ratio.

i have seen the Aqua ar620T and it was the worst thing i had ever seen for the fish.

if youre sticking with your usual suspects, surely theyre happy where they are and numbered well?

they are numbered very well........................and growing!! I don't remove spawning fish, rather let nature take its course, however this is not going to always be a great option. I have considered 5ft by relocating onto another wall, however the LFS are selling CLEAIR Deep bow tank for under £400 and its a huge 472 litres! But will have a tank dept of nearly 1m, however i do have dam long arms to reach in and clean. I just thought that a bigger tank would be better, but ae my thought wrong then?
Sorry i am no expert and have no other ideas on how to stop them multiplying lol

you need a fry eater to minimize numbers.

Angels or bettas for example are good fry catchers.

at the end of the day, its what YOU want and like that matters. IMO (and it is just my opinion) I dont like taller tanks.

have you come up with anything?
