Actually yeah, what you cant see well in the pics is that there is an entire row of polyps that has been added to the sides since then, and sometimes I see some polyp splitting near the edge. Its growing back, albeit very slowly. It was a shame to loose so much of a fantastic specemin cause LPS dont exactly grow quickly . Workin on uploading pics here, probably have a post up within an hour with pics from a MUCH better camera :D

After a meeting with the Office of Digital Research (ODR), Reef Command learned of new and advanced technologies for visual depictions of the theatre. The ODR was kind enough to lend the Corps of Engineers its newest technology, the 7.1MP Digital Camera. Armed with this new weapon, the Corps went straight into action, taking numerous closeups of The Fleet and of various friendlies. It may also be noted that after repeated failure in creating a device for water movement that did not destroy friendlies, Reef Command outsourced the job to Taam Seio Industries. In the meantime, the Corps has been set about the task of cleaning the bilge pumps and equipment below decks :shifty:. But enough about the Corps' failures, on with the show.

First up, Admiral Hastings watches over his junior officers

Vice Admiral Victor was spotted in the northern quadrant seemingly on solo patrol

Commander Roy was busy being his usual stealthy self waiting in ambush amongst the rocks likely targeting his favorite enemy, Amphipods. He came out for a photo opportunity though

Lieutenant O'Shea (green bar goby) has not been seen under steam all day. He spent the entire day in his berth not willing to venture out to the open ocean. Perhaps he knows a storm is coming?

As for the friendlies, here are some closeups

And last but not least, the Elegance. Still looking healthy in the theatre

Finally, Reef Command leaves you all with a widescreen shot of the Theatre. Should you desire any other closeups be taken, ask as the wonders of 7.1MP technology are on loan from the ODR through Sunday Evening.

Mate that is stunning:! :hyper:

Keep using that camera, that old one didn't show the real beauty of the tank it looks 10 times better now i can see it properly :good:

what happened to the acropora that you had under the PC's?

The original orange one that I found out was actually a montipora digitata was a casualty of the great algal wars. It got overtaken by the hair algae and perished. There are still 3 polyps left on it, but I dunno if it'll make it. Keeping my hopes up but since it was free and made in error by its original owner I'm not terribly concerned if it dos not live. That pocillipora was kept under PCs for about 2 months. It likes the halides MUCH better.

Thanks for the compliments guys, that camera really does rock doesnt it? :D

Very nice M8 :good: Looking like your getting the grip of the new camra. Tangs looking brill! can't wait for it to grow out a bit. (bit like mine)

Could you refresh my mem as to what K bulb your using (and make please)

'And may we all be entertained'

The bulb is a Hamilton 14000k bulb. Very blue looking but still has some good PAR ratings. I dont know if I'll change bulbs to be honest, I really like the balance of white and blue light out of it. It was REALLY blue when it was brand new, but as the phosphors have burned-in and matured its gotten really cool lookin. The only other bulb I'm considering trying is a Reeflux (or coralvue, same bulb just re-badged) 12000K. But that'll be a while before I'm ready for a new bulb. Finding a Hamilton without spending a fortune is a little difficult though. Was lucky enough to buy this one off a local reefer who didnt think it was blue enough
