400 Ltr Godiva Executive Discus Set Up

Looking good!

How many watts are your bulbs?

I've got 2 39watts in there, there both iquaties ones the tropical one and ones the new 50/50 one was thinking of adding a one more 50/50 or one of the Blue plus

Just trying to find a second hand single 39w power pack/supply to keep cost down

It may be that my last tank was a reef tank and that was very bright and that what I'm use to, think I,ll get some plants tomorrow and see how I go

And for your co2 uses how many bubbles should I be using per second/min (400 ltr setup), just set it up to 2 1/2 at min will see what happens with that

Cheers

Well it really depends on what type of plants you're keeping, but 78w over 100Gal gives you 0.78w per gallon, which i wouldnt really consider high light. Seeing as you are doing it all high tech you may need to increase the light but if i was you i would just wait and see, especially as they are t5s.

There is a serious difference in lighting with reef tanks and freshwater, it hurts my eyes in the marine section sometimes..

Im unsure on the co2...

Well put some plants in made the tank look 100% brighter, got some more moss of eBay coming the plants I've put in are
Cryptocoryne
Eleocharis
Utricularia
Echinodorus
Pogostemon
Hemianthus
And some java moss which i've glue to tree shaped bogwood think next time I'll tie it on as the glue dried very white, but the moss will cover it up once it grows

Here's a couple of pics

Not updated for a bit well having a few problems with the water doesn't seem to want to do what I want it to do

I've been mixing 4 ltrs of hma with 16 ltrs of ro giving me a kh reading of 3.5 and ph of 6.9 when mixed and left for 12 hours
But the tank reads a ph of 7.8 and 7.2 when co2 on and a kh of 3.8

It's doing my head in why won't it go below 7 I've put some peat balls in there now so I'm hoping they give it the push it needs

Put some fish in now 20 cardinals and two corys (which keep getting suck down in to the sump)
Also put some more plants in some flame moss, sords, and some java ferns you can't really see much at min cos of the peat but here's a pic

ah righty, what corys are they? Only Sterbai can manage discus temps.

There the albino ones glad you pointed that out was thinking of taking them back think now I will 100%

Can any one else recommend some bottom feeders/scavengers for discus setups

With my ph think I'm going to drop the kh down to 2.5 in the tank to hopefully let the ph drop, any one else think of any thing I could do

Cheers

Not up dated for a while

The algae issues have almost gone I've just double dosed trace minerals, and that seems to be getting the better of it

As you can see from the pics I've finally got some discus in
