40"x12"x15" Fish Only Tank

Well the snails are here and after and hour and a half of dripping are in the tank. They are clearing the diatoms so quickly. I take it its a good sign that they are eating straight away.

Oooh my background came today. Its the choice every person must make "Do I go for black... or dark blue on the back of my aquarium"

I liked the idea of blue but thought black looked better because it looks good in the shop, but after holding them up to the back of the tank, you were right, the dark blue just looked 10 times better. So I just put it on there. The fish look so much brighter with a background and the tank just looks better. I will have to put a pic up later, havnt in a while.

Update : One clown died from whitespot. Other is in treatment and making a good recovery. Im about to break the tank down and scrub everything and change the sand. Then fill 'er back up ready for hopefully disease free fish lol

sorry to hear about your clown, hopefully you can get the whitespot sorted in the tank. I was told that a rise in the salinity to 1.026 decreases the chances of whitespot? Dont quote me on that tho, Seffie would be able to verify that?

Seffie care to share some of that wonderful wisdom with us? lol

Sadly the other clown died the other day. Now im fishless!

Im going to change the sand and soak everything in freshwater tomorrow. Then Fill up with 100% new water and start again.

Stocking im not even sure of now. I just want a few fish that arnt going to hide now.

Are you going to consider a reef tank this time around or still a fish only tank?

I know a few people who have said they will do a fish only tank and after a few months have wished they'd gone for a reef tank instead?

Nah Im not a lover of reefs TBH. I pref the fish to Inverts like corals, shrimp, snials etc

I emptied the tank today and am starting from the base up. I am however going to upgrade to a larger FO at some point.
