40"x12"x15" Fish Only Tank

Thanks for the help. Yeah I will buy a few snails and just see how they go. If they are OK, I will add more.

I went to the pet shop. I HATE that its bloody the school holidays. Parents taking their kids there like its a free zoo. I could hardly get to the tanks. I had a quick look but its not worth it. Im going to go to aquatic design centre tomorrow and see what they have in.

Thanks again for the help saffie

Its usually a really quite shop, im just so used to going on a weekday when there is only 1 or 2 other people in there. Its really hit a miss. I just got some rats, scared some kids with them and left.

Hopefully they have a royal gramma at ADC tomorrow, fingers crossed.

LOL when they see me bagging them up its a look of pure fear, my mum drives me there and shes worse than any kid, she turns into the woman from tom and jerry.

Also my sun sun 3000 litre powerhead came and its way good! Its really moving the water but very spread out so its not causing that annoying single stream flow. Also it doesn't look like it causes that buffeting that the others do. Now if its 3000 litres P/H or not im not sure, but its defo more than my 1500 so may well be. Im pretty impressed because it was only £13 posted. I will write a mini review later because there is no info about them in any detail.

Oh cool, I will add a review on that thread,

I could punch a wall!! I went to aquatic design centre and its so gone down hill im sure. Im sure I have an OCD and the fact that the fish were all over the place and in no order and all mixed together and nothing was labled, no prices. There were some faint marker marks on the tanks but come on, is it to much to ask to have decent price tags.

I was hoping they had a royal gramma, but nope. Other than the very basics (clowns, damsels, a few gobys), a yellow tang with an eye missing and live rock with aptasia on it, there isnt much there. Then I saw a coral beauty, and I was thinking of getting it, then It started scratching on a rock so I just left.

Is there anywhere online that ships in the UK? I cant be bothered with relying on shops anymore. They never even have what I want anyways.

Where do you live Sean, maybe someone on here could point you in the direction of a better lfs

SE London, anyone have any suggestions?

ADC is highly recommended by loads of keepers, on other forums, but TBH I would only use it as a last resort place. I will have a search around. Im not really in a rush to stock the aquarium as the clowns are plenty of entertainment as it is.

Also do these look good? Do they eat Diatoms well because its unreal how quick its growing, I think im leaving the light on to much.

Also on other profiles it says if they dont have enough algae between them, they will starve to death. Do they not eat other things?

Sean there are some pretty good lfs in Kent - sometimes my sister Trod and I do a road trip to visit them - maybe you could do the same, we usually manage to slip in a nice pub lunch as well :good:

There are also a couple of good shops up a bit North to you: Wildwoods to name but one, there are three in very close proximity and again a nice pub lunch can be had.

Amwell aquatics is also worth a visit

They all require a bit of travelling though - but I dont mind that, they are all about an hour away from me. We usually just make a day of it woo hoo

ps but for a lfs for you to get your everyday supplies I cant help you, sorry

Basic Turbos they are fine I rate Banded Trocheus better both do the same job Check out FishmanFrags as he does lots of good critters

I ended up ordering 10 turban turbo snails, they have a diff scientific name because I read something that said those were not really tropical marine snails. Hopefully whatever they are they come soon, they have enough brown algae to eat. I don't mind it on the rocks, it gives it a little character but on the sand is just annoying.

There are little bits of green algae growing in places, hopefully this will take because it looks nice in a FO tank on the rocks.

I just had to order a new background because the other got lost and they don't have any more. So I ordered somemore and god knows when the seller is even sending my snails, let alone when I will get them.
