3rd oto gone bye bye

3 weeks ago I bought 3 zebra otos and now the last one of them has just perished right in front of my eyes, it darted straight up to the top of the tank swam like crazy and then nothing it just fell to the bottom just like that. I cannot believe these fish, every other fish in my tank is as happy as larry and swimming about freely, but not these otos will try them again and see what hapens but what gets me is all my readings are what they should be. has anyone got this type of fish and managed to keep them alive?

sorry to hear you lost the third one. just out of interest how long had they been in the shop, and how long has your tank been established? i seemed to have most luck with otos when the tank had been running longer, and with ones that had been in store for a while.

my tank has been up and running for 4 months now and all the readingd are as they should be.
ammonia - nil
ph - 7.0
nitrate 25
nitrite 0

I have gone through 5 ottos myself and i use to have the exact same problems, I now have 1 left in my tank and so far is ok. I'm planning to something that will eat algae.

How about a siamese flying fox??
