Like I said it's not going to happen over night this could take a few years but I am going to do it.
Small extension or conservatory = tank.
Personally, I'd ignore all of the rules. You don't need all live rock, you'll get a massive amount of biodiversity with half or even a quarter of that and base rock to be colonised by the live.
Corals grow, buy frags and, if you're going to shell out for this practice with a frag growing tank first.
Otherwise the costs are unusual for these, electricity starts to cost more than the kit does, so expensive things that save power are in, as are things that reduce the need for water changes, as a 10% water change will hurt the pocket in salt mix and RO, so that super skimmer suddenly looks cheap. Overall running costs kill tanks like this, not set up costs.
