36 Gallon Stocking Question

I am moving around a few tanks. I have a 36 gallon tank and am wondering how I am stocked. Do I have to much room. I know the inch per gallon rule but I also some fish create more waste. Let me know what you think and offer suggestions please.
8 gold Barbs
4 cherry barbs
6 black ruby barbs
1 rainbow shark



I moved the 6 black ruby barbs in recently to empty a tank for a future cichlid tank.

They all seam to be doing well but still curious about the stock.

I was thinking of adding some small corys. But afraid I don't have the space or the rainbow shark will mess with them.

Also I just edited my original post. I had posted golden barbs and I meant the smaller gold Barbs. Any one have some suggestions on stock. Do I have room for a few Corys to finish off the bottom of the draft.

.You could get 4-6 cories for the bottom. I would keep an eye on the shark. Rainbows aren't as aggressive as Red tailed sharks, but they can get a bit territorial
