32 Gallon Overstocked With Angel, firemouth + Kissing Gourami?

I have kept them both before with Platys.Mollies and Swordtails with no bother at all,Yeh Black Widows was my second option,I think thye are just as bad as Tiger Barbs tho.

I have another suggestion for you Glen, how about......................Bleeding heart tetras or Black phantoms tetras, bleeding hearts get bigger but are also not too small from the LFS (least not that Ive found) are fairly quick growing too, 5/6 of those would be nice and they are also good with cichlids, mine (I had 5) had no problems with acaras and a texas, too fast for them to catch and not confrontational to bother them either.

Good idea,i was thinking about Black Rubys to

Just noticed Saz mentioned Corys...thats a really bad idea with bottom dwelling Cichlids like Firemouths and Kribs etc!

Got a bigger tank off my mate today (60 gallon) with a mature Fluval 404,saved most of his water to,filled the rest of it up with my tank and went and bought a Adult Angel,Juvenile Gold Severum and 5 Black Widows.

Also got 5 Bristleys coming.

My other tanks filled up awaiting tons of livebearer fry.

...ummm...are they bottom dwellers...? My bad. Assumed they were mid level monsters. Im glad you knew about this. Im not clever on cichlids and their habits.

So glad you knew this - would hate to encourage "fish soup"!

Haha :D there not really monsters either they are predominately bottom dwelling cichlids thats why they love plant pots and things and they are pretty small to,only get to 6" if well fed (the same size as a adult three spot/opaline Gourami),they are pretty much a duller coloured Kribensis in beahvior that get 2 inchers bigger but has a bit more character IMO.

I'm more concerned about how my new Severum is going to treat him when he gets bigger as they can get to 14" although 8" is the norm and i have never actually seen one anywhere near that big.

Same with Kissing Gouramis, the biggest i have seen is about 10" although they can apparently get to 12" but never more than 6-7" in the aquarium.

P4P i would say a adult Angel is far more territorial against other fish than a Firemouth, but because of its odd shape and weak make up can't really do alot about it.

Glad to hear you got a nice new larger tank Glen, that will make the fish much happier :)
