30G Marine Fowlr Tank........help!.....quick!

Woody your in the right place for help, we all have questions that may seem silly but remember a question is only silly if you know the answer.

I myself asked loaded of questions on here when I setup my first marine tank about 8 months ago and I felt the same so don't worry about asking.

All I did was read as many project logs on here as possible, bought a couple of marine aquarium books and just took it slow.

I now (8 months on) have just added my first coral simply because I wanted to make sure I was comfortable with keeping and maintaining fish first.

Thanks for your help guys! And thanks for scarin the hell out of me. I haven't had much hand contact as yet with the display side of the tank but after reading about those bristle worms I aint puttin my hands in there....ever!

As for the pics, I have the pics on my laptop ready, tried uploadin them last night but it kept saying ''bad gateway'' So have given up for now! Will try again soon.

I'll be sleepin with my eyes open LOL.

Just been to my lfs and got hold of a koralia nano 900 [wish they had longer leads on them], a couple of fluval media bags, 4 turbo snails [I think their turbo's have blown as they aint movin much LOL] and a couple of hermit crabs. Gonna remove the rest of the filter media 2moro and put some live rock and rowaphos in.

Sorted the lighting out. my lfs had 1 spare lamp which I have now replaced, as the other lamp that wasn't working it turned to be just the starter so have replaced them both.I might remove one of the starters and put an L.E.D in instead. The tank is much brighter now anyway :good:

Can anyone give me any info on bristle worms

Yep! moonlights are working. But might modify them and run an L.E.D strip once I've figured out the power supply

woohoo! I'm no longer a Newbie!.....I'm honoured!.......Best day of my life!.......I'd like to thank!...Blah,Blah,Blah!

Just an update guys. After the advice given to me by yourselves and a nice lady at my lfs, I Have done a 25% water change. I'm taking a sample back in tommorow to get it tested which they will do for free as I just spent over £30 on RO salt mix water and a refractometer. If everything O.K then will treat myself to a cleaner shrimp.
I have also removed the old filter media and replaced it with LR rubble from a small piece out of the display, which I broke up in tank water and some rowaphos in a seperate media bag. Hopefully everything will be ok stat wise.
Will upload stats 2moro.............If they are good!

Still tryin to get a pic uploaded but having trouble! Any ideas?

Easiest thing for photos is to open an account with photobucket.com. They will host your photos for free, just upload them to their site with no need to edit them, then you can post the link from your picture in photobucket into the insert image bit on this website. Easy peasy.

This was the first pic I took of the tank the day I had it. There has been a couple of changes since then ie; Koralia nano 900,cuc, filter media change, 20% water change etc

If you think it looks a bit under-maintained then please let me know but please bear in mind the tank was given to me like this which had not seen a water change or filter media check for almost 18 months which is why I started getting to work on it [LR rubble, rowaphos, cuc, powerhead, water change etc]. Any other ideas what I could/need do?

Oh! forgot to say the tank has now been moved away from the window and is now in a darker corner of my lounge. In fact it's about a foot away from where I sit which is nice!
